我看了”Invictus”的時候，我可以感覺到當時在南非白人跟黑人之間的葛藤，不但反映了美國白人跟“少數民” （黑人，拉丁人，亞州人， 等等。。。）之間的問題，也反映了政治上保守派跟自由派的衝突。噢巴馬跟曼德拉兩個人的負擔很大。要解決的問題更多，要實行他們的理想更難。因為黃家駒懂得Mandela為了南非人所受的辛苦，是以為他歌頌“光輝歲月”。

電影裡面的演員一流。 Morgan Freeman 跟 Matt Damon 要克服南非口音已經夠難。可是Matt Damon還要學怎麼打Rugby(欖球),而且自己身材也比普通欖球手有點矮。看他們打欖球，你也很想在劇場裡面為南非隊大聲叫你支持他們。當你看到紐西蘭隊在球場上跳那個令人生畏的舞，看欖球的fans或者打欖球的人也會知道這部電影對事實很忠實。看了也幾乎忘了自己不是在看球，而是在看電影。

這部電影以 John Carlin 寫的 “Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Made a Nation” 為本。而題目是從 William Ernest Henley寫的詩：

從那包庇我的晚上走出來，
Out of the night that covers me,
在兩極之端如無窮低窪的黑暗，
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
不管是哪一個神也好我都感謝祂
I thank whatever gods may be
賜與我那不撓不屈的靈魂
